ABOUT AIZ Munich (Ahlul-Bayt Imamia Zentrum)
Established in 2013 by a dedicated group of Shia Ithna Asheri members from India and Pakistan, the Ahlul-Bayt Imamia Zentrum (AIZ Munich) serves as a cornerstone for the Shia community in Munich, Germany. Our center addresses the religious, spiritual, and cultural needs of approximately 300 members, offering a welcoming environment for both international students, expats and local residents seeking connection within the Shia Ithna Asheri tradition and attend Azadari in Urdu, German and Farsi (Persian).
Our journey commenced with the organization of the first Ashra-e-Muharram in 2014, marking the beginning of a series of significant events that honor the rich tapestry of Shia rituals and celebrations. These include:
Majlis/Azadari: Regular gatherings for the remembrance and commemoration of pivotal events in Islamic history.
Matam: Traditional expressions of grief and solidarity during mourning ceremonies.
Jashan: Festive celebrations marking the birth anniversaries (Viladats) of the Holy 14 (AS).
Ashra Majalis: A series of ten consecutive Majalis held during significant periods, such as Muharram, to deepen spiritual reflection.
In addition to these, we host weekly Dua Kumayl sessions, fostering communal supplication and spiritual growth. Our commitment to community engagement extends beyond religious observances, encompassing summer camps, barbecues, and sports competitions that promote unity and cultural enrichment among members.
